From hot wheels to a firemen's ball

From hot wheels to a firemen's ball

Hopping on a boat is pretty unique.

Nightspots here and around the world are also raising their game. These are some examples:

Hot Wheels Party
When: Oct 16, 2013
Where: kyo Club, at Cecil Street
The concept: Twelve lucky women won a drink each and joy rides in either a Maserati GranTurismo or on a Harley Davidson motorbike - complete with a hot chauffeur - around the F1 circuit route.

The party, which takes place every Wednesday evening, alternates with other themes. Men pay $25 and women $20, with free drinks for the latter.

Underwater Party
When: Aug 26, 2013
Where: Piscine Pailleron, one of Paris' public pools
The concept: French party organisers We Are The Oracle emptied the large pool of water, transforming it into a dance floor.

About 700 partygoers were informed of the event's location just hours before it began. They were instructed to get decked out completely in white, with blue accessories.

Aside from food and wine, guests were also treated to a mermaid-inspired eye make-up, which featured tiny stickon gemstones.

Parisian Firemen's Ball
When: July 13 and 14
Where: Fire stations around the city
The concept: Fire stations are transformed into discos and firemen into DJs, waiters and bartenders.

Think swoon-worthy men in uniform looking for dance partners.

Skye Bar
When: From 9pm daily
Where: On the rooftop of Hotel Unique in Sao Paulo, Brazil
The concept: It's an infinity space - think no walls or pillars - overlooking the city of Brazil, with a crimson red pool which has underwater speakers, so you don't miss a beat as you take a dip.
