Local stars in Italian glamour for Gucci's La Dolce Vita screening

SINGAPORE - Celebrities Zoe Tay, Jeannette Aw and Yvonne Lim attended Gucci's screening of the 1960 classic film, La Dolce Vita, in elegant Italian glamour at the Venice edition of the Italian Film Festival in Singapore.

The actresses showed up at the event on April 4 in the Italian fashion house's latest Spring-Summer collection, and mingled with over 140 guests including local director Boo Jun Feng, director of the Italian Cultural Institute, Veronica Manson, Gucci VIP guests and personalities.

Nicolo Bassetti, the screenwriter who conceived the idea of Sacro GRA, winning film of the Venice Film Festival Golden Lion in 2013, was the guest-of-honour.

La Dolce Vita is a 1960 comedy-drama starring screen legends, the late Marcello Mastroianni and Anita Ekberg, and is one of the ten collaborations between the Italian luxury fashion house and The Film Foundation to date.

Restored in 2010, the film underwent an extensive 4K digital restoration from the original camera negative by Cineteca di Bologna at L'Immagine Ritrovata in association with The Film Foundation, Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia-Cineteca Nazionale, Pathe, Fondation Jerome Seydoux-Pathe, Mediaset and Medusa film, Paramount Pictures and Cinecitta Luce.

From April 2-7, the Italian film festival in Singapore showcased for the first time a special edition of the Venice Film Festival, with a selection of Italian and Asian movies that were presented in Venice last September.

The festival, which was in its 11th year, was presented by the Italian Cultural Institute and Biennale di Venezia in partnership with the National Museum of Singapore and Cathay Cineplexes.
