Air India's new scheme

In a bid to attract more passengers, India's national carrier Air India started an upgrade scheme for its economy class passengers on its domestic network from 43 stations.

Passengers flying in economy class can upgrade to executive class at the airport on payment of a fixed minimum amount ranging from Rs5,000 (S$104) to Rs7,000, depending on distance.

A similar scheme is also available to the international sectors up to June 31.
