SINGAPORE - Well-heeled Asian cruise lovers can soon look forward to a more premium offering here.
Celebrity Cruises (Celebrity), Royal Caribbean's luxury brand, yesterday announced that it will be establishing a single-brand organisation here to attract the growing number of wealthy travellers in Asia, particularly in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Celebrity also announced that it has appointed Singaporean Kelvin Tan to be its commercial director for the Asia-Pacific region.
Based in Singapore, his team will oversee the brand's commercial, marketing, trade support and sales in the region.
"The Asia-Pacific region has great potential for Celebrity Cruises, and this will best position the Celebrity brand for future growth in this dynamic region," said president and CEO Michael Bayley.
"There is a high percentage of affluent travellers in the region who are eager for more premium cruise options, which Celebrity Cruises can deliver.
And, as a result of this development, our brand will get greater visibility, and our travel partners can expect even more attention and support."
Starting in December, Celebrity Millennium will present a series of exciting 13 to 15-night cruises from Singapore and Hong Kong.
