Changi Airport offers free live screening of World Cup matches

SINGAPORE - Football fans travelling from or through Changi Airport during the World Cup season need not worry about missing out on the excitement and festivities of the quadrennial affair.

Changi Airport will be live screening all World Cup matches from June 13 to July 14 2014 for its passengers, with free live screening areas in the departure transit areas set up across all three airport terminals.

Matches will be screened on 19 large high-definition TV screens at the viewing areas.

For those keen on partaking in virtual games, 10 of the latest Sony PlayStation 4 game consoles will also be made available in between matches to keep passengers thrilled and entertained while waiting for their flights.

"From die-hard football enthusiasts, to passengers travelling with their families, to those with time to spare during their stopover at Changi Airport, there will be something available for everyone. With a slew of on-ground entertainment and activities planned to spice up the atmosphere, we hope to provide our passengers a fun time at Changi Airport this World Cup season," said Mr Jayson Goh, Senior Vice President for Airport Operations Management at Changi Airport Group.

The screening areas, as large as 100 square metres in size, will be able to accommodate more than 120 viewers in total. On crowded nights where perennial favourites face-off in Brazil, passengers will also be able to catch the matches live in the gatehold rooms while waiting to board their flights.

As one of Asia's best-connected airports with links to 70 countries worldwide, football fans from all over the globe will be able to root for their favourite teams at Changi Airport this World Cup season.
