SINGAPORE - Changi Airport has pipped the Hong Kong and Dubai airports to the title of Best Airport in the World in the 2014 Business Traveller Asia Pacific Awards.
In a separate category, it also emerged best Airport in the Asia-Pacific.
At the same awards ceremony held in Hong Kong last Friday, Singapore Airlines (SIA) was crowned Best Airline in the World and Best Airline in the Asia Pacific for the 14th year in a row.
The national carrier also won four other accolades - for having the best product in the First, Business and Economy Class categories and for Best Airline Inflight Catering, a new category added this year.
SIA's rival Cathay Pacific snagged Best Premium Economy Class for the second year in a row, in addition to winning in categories such as Best Airline Lounge in the Asia-Pacific for its lounge in Hong Kong International Airport and Best Frequent Flyer programme.
Among budget carriers, Air Asia was again lauded for being the Best Low-Cost Airline.
Meanwhile, Singapore won top marks for being Best Business City in South-east Asia.
In the hospitality categories, Singapore's Shangri-La Hotel was voted Best Business Hotel in the World; Parkroyal on Pickering was the Best New Business Hotel in the Asia-Pacific and the Fullerton Bay Hotel, Asia-Pacific's Best Boutique Hotel.
Meanwhile, Ascott was named Best Serviced Residence Brand in the Asia-Pacific, and its property in Raffles Place, the Best Serviced Residence in the Asia-Pacific.
The winners in the 57 different categories of awards were chosen by the jet-setting readers of Business Traveller Asia Pacific. This is the 23rd anniversary of the awards.
The poll was conducted between April and June; the results were compiled by market research firm Ipsos.
