SINGAPORE - One Farrer Hotel & Spa, located within mixed-use complex Connexion along Farrer Park Road, is set to open this August.
Besides the hotel, Connexion also includes a medical centre and hospital.
Originally slated to open in 2010, Connexion's opening date was pushed back to end-2011 due to longer-than-expected piling works. It was further delayed to early 2013 due to internal disputes among the shareholders.
The Farrer Park Company, Connexion's developer and manager, said yesterday that the development is expected to open towards the end of this year.
One Farrer Hotel & Spa will open in stages from August. The five-star hotel will offer 250 guest rooms across three different accommodation types. "We wanted to create a hotel that would tick all the boxes of what travellers want in a hotel," said Richard Helfer, board member of The Farrer Park Company. The hotel will offer nine concept-driven dining options, such as a food street.
It will also have spa facilities and a conference centre. The hotel will be managed by Gilbert Madhavan. Mr Madhavan, The Farrer Park Company's vice-president (hotel operations), has held senior positions with hotels in Asia, Australia and the Caribbean.
According to data from Chesterton Singapore, hotel room supply from 2014 to 2018 will increase about 20 per cent from last year's stock of around 55,000 licensed hotel rooms.
