Puss In Boots roller-coaster ride to make world-wide debut at USS

SINGAPORE - Universal Studios Singapore will be launching a new suspended roller-coaster ride by the end of the year.

According to a release by Resorts World Singapore and Universal Studios Singapore, the new outdoor ride, titled "Puss In Boots' Giant Journey", will strap guests in for a "wild goose chase with Puss and his accomplice, Kitty Soft Paws."

It will be the first roller coaster in the world based on the popular Puss In Boots franchise.

But for those who can't wait, a new stage show featuring Puss and Kitty will debut in September.

The 20-minute show, called "The Dance for the Magic Beans", includes a meet and greet session with the characters.

Puss, originally a character in the popular Shrek animated film series, rose to stand-alone fame in October 2011 with his very own hit movie which grossed over US$554 million (S$688 million) worldwide. It also received a nomination for Best Animated Feature at the 84th Academy Awards.

Mr John Hallenbeck, Senior Vice President of Attractions at Resorts World Sentosa said: "We are excited to expand our collaboration with DreamWorks Animation. DreamWorks characters have been popular and the expansion will allow our guests to experience more of Puss In Boots, a franchise beloved by families and youths. The new ride is designed based on the popularity of our other crowd-pleasing suspended coaster, and will cater to not only families but thrill-seekers as well."

Universal Studios Singapore features more than 20 rides, shows and attractions. This new ride will bring the total number of attractions based on DreamWorks Animation films to seven.
