SINGAPORE - In the first half of 2014, Singapore surpassed the all-time favourite Bangkok to become Asia's most prominent destination, Gullivers Travel Associates (GTA) said.
From Jan to Jun 2014, the global hospitality and leisure distributor said it observed a global trend that hotel room bookings to Singapore has increased from tour agencies.
Last year, Asia's most popular destinations were South Korea and Indonesia.
The majority of travellers to Singapore hail from countries like Australia, China, India, Japan and even the UAE and UK, GTA said.
The most notable increase can be seen from China, which had an increase of 45 per cent in bookings.
