Wacky Malaysian deejays 'do a Branson

SEPANG - Red FM morning show The Red Breakfast WTF deejays JJ and Lil' Kev now know what it is like to step out in British business tycoon Sir Richard Branson's shoes.

Four months after Branson served food and beverage on board an AirAsia flight dressed up as a female flight attendant, the wacky duo followed in his footsteps when they, too, lost a bet to the airline's group chief executive Tan Sri Tony Fernandes.

The deejays turned heads as they served up hot steaming meals and beverages to passengers on board the 9.30am Kuala Lumpur-Kota Kinabalu flight (AK 5106) and the 12.30pm Kota Kinabalu-Kuala Lumpur flight (AK 5107) yesterday.

Many were surprised to see the two bald-headed Red FM deejays, sporting lipstick, stockings and heels as well as the iconic red AirAsia flight attendant skirt and jacket.

Besides serving passengers their food, the duo also conducted the airline's safety demonstration, sold merchandise, cleaned the toilets, collected rubbish and generally everything else that was expected of a flight attendant.

Walking in the black pumps custom-made for Branson, JJ laughed: "Now I can say I've walked a mile in Sir Richard Branson's shoes."

Asked what was the best thing about their unusual stint, Lil' Kev said: "Now that we've done this, we'll get Tony to fly 20 underprivileged kids to Legoland next."

They had lost a bet to Fernandes on air while talking about The Apprentice Asia. The bet was for the AirAsia boss to book a room for free at Tune Hotel in Penang just by introducing himself as Tony Fernandes.
