Wax figures of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie arrive in Singapore

SINGAPORE - Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were among the first global A-list celebrity waxwork figures to arrive in Singapore, ahead of the opening of Madame Tussauds Singapore on October 25.

The popular wax attraction will be located at Imbiah Lookout on Sentosa and will feature some of Singapore's highest achieving and most popular celebrities, as well as Asian and international A-list celebrities from around the world

The figures of Brad and Angelina were created specially for the Singapore attraction in Madame Tussaud's studio in London, the organisers said.

Each waxwork figure took approximately three months to produce. Angelina's hair required over four weeks work, with each strand of hair inserted individually using a forked needle. Brad's hair was created in the same way.

Angelina's eyelashes were also inserted one by one, a delicate process that takes one week to ensure each detail is perfect. All of the tattoos on her figure were hand painted.

Other global celebrities confirmed to feature in the attraction include Johnny Depp, David Beckham and Lady Gaga.

The attraction will be split into sections with different themes. Key themes include World Leaders, History, Film, Sport, Music, and TV as well as a special A-List Party section.

The Spirit of Singapore boat ride will link the Madame Tussauds attraction with Images of Singapore LIVE, an existing attraction which Merlin Entertainments is currently updating. Together the two attractions will be housed in the existing Images of Singapore building, covering an area of 2,260 square metres.

Lily Lim, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Singapore said: "We are very excited to be opening Madame Tussauds Singapore. This is a world class attraction which draws millions of visitors every year and we have no doubt that it will appeal to both local Singaporeans and international tourists alike."
