KUALA LUMPUR: A businessman died after he lost control of his high-powered motorcycle that skidded off Km35.4 of the Karak Highway this morning.
In the 9.30am incident, the victim identified as Datuk Majura Muda, was with three other friends, also riding superbikes, heading towards Genting Sempah.
It was learnt that upon reaching a sharp corner, his Kawasaki Concours 14 slipped and went straight into the steel road divider railings.
The victim was flung off his bike and his head had directly hit the railings before his bike came crashing on him in a split second.
The 47-year-old businessman died on the spot, confirmed Gombak police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rahim Abdullah.
"He succumbed to severe injuries on the head," Rahim added, saying that the body was sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital for post mortem.
It was learnt that the victim, who was an executive director of his own engineering consultancy company, and his friends were heading to the rest area at Lentang Recreational Forest to have breakfast.
The deceased's eldest son Mohd Dzul Ariff Majuri said his father was from Dungun, Terengganu and was the owner cum chief executive officer of his over-10-years-old business Maju Integrated Consultant located in Pusat Bandar Seri Gombak, Taman Seri Gombak here.
The 21-year-old who is also working for his father added that he has 5 other younger siblings, his brother and four sisters, with the youngest aged 4 years old.
Dzul Ariff said according to his mother Datin Noriah Mahat, 44, his father will be buried at the Muslim cemetary here in Taman Bukit Permata, Gombak.
"A hospital staff told me that the post mortem will take at least two hours," he said when contacted, adding that he and other family members are currently at the Sungai Buloh Hospital.
"My grandparents and other relatives have also been notified," said Dzul Ariff.
