Family of three killed in two-car collision
Deadly impact: Passers-by stopping to look at one of the badly damaged cars involved in the head-on accident at Km45 of the Kulim-Baling-Grik stretch.

BALING - Four people including a family of three died following a two-car collision at the Kulim-Baling-Grik Expressway here.

Security guard Alias Ahmad, 51, who was driving a Perodua Kancil, died on the spot while his wife Rosnah Hashim, 51, and son Mohd Sufian Alias, 12, succumbed to their injuries at the Kulim Hospital at 8pm on Sunday.

Esah Rahman, 77, was the other fatality from the other car, a Nissan Sentra, while the injured were identified as policeman Abu Mansor Hamad, 50, who was the driver, Hasnah Hamid, 51, and Ali Dahawang, 62.

The head-on collision occurred at Km 45.5 at 5.40pm.

Acting Baling OCPD Deputy Supt K. Wari when contacted yesterday said the accident was being investigated as causing death by reckless or dangerous driving under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

"All the victims died of multiple head injuries." he said.
