Mr Alex Yeo Kok Chye was on his way to meet a client when he saw a tipper truck in front of him suddenly topple onto its side on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE).

When the logistics manager, 35, stopped his car and got out, he was shocked to see a taxi crushed under the truck.

He said on Wednesday: "Gone. That was what i thought of the occupants when i saw the taxi."

Then Mr Yeo caught sight of taxi driver ng Kim Beng, 46, trapped in the wreckage, and ran over.

He and other passers-by used their hands to clear the rubble that had spilled from the truck onto the taxi.

"When i asked if he was okay, all he could say was 'save me, save me," Mr Yeo said.

He used his logistics expertise to help direct the crane operators who had been asked to help lift the truck off the taxi. He has 12 years' experience directing heavy machinery at Sian Heng logistics.
