Holiday discounts for Malaysian road users

KUALA LUMPUR - Road users going home to their hometowns for the Christmas period are in for a treat, with discounts and promotions offered by highway concessionaires.

Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP) and Sprint Highway users will get discounts up to 75 per cent depending on the class of their vehicle from today till midnight.

All Projek Lintasan Kota Sdn Bhd (Prolintas) users will enjoy 20 per cent toll discounts starting 6am today until 6am on Dec 26.

The promotion covers all vehicle classes at all three highways managed by the company.

Sistem Lingkaran Lebuhraya Kajang Sdn Bhd (SILK), the operator of the Kajang-Silk Highway, gave away 400 Touch 'n Go cards as a Christmas gift for its customers. .

Its spokesperson said they would distribute another 400 cards on Dec 31 in the cash lanes.

As for IJM Toll Division, which manages the Sungai Besi (Besraya), Kajang Seremban (Lekas) and New Pantai (NPE) Expressway, there will be a 10 per cent discount for Class One motorists on New Year's Day.

Meanwhile, PLUS Expressways Sdn Bhd users paying toll today via PLUSMiles cards, Touch 'n Go cards or SmartTAG will enjoy a 10 per cent toll rebate when they reload their PLUSMiles or Touch 'n Go cards at the PLUS customer service centres from Jan 16 until April 15 next year.

The rebate will not be available to those paying electronically at the Tanjung Kupang, Bukit Kayu Hitam, Bangunan Sultan Iskandar and Penang Bridge toll plazas.

PLUS corporate communications head Mohd Nizam Ismail advised motorists heading for Perlis, Kedah, Penang and Johor to enter the NSE between 6am and 10am while those going to Taiping, Kuala Kangsar, Gerik, Jasin and Malacca should enter between 10am and 1pm.

Motorists are advised to call PLUSLine at 1800-88-0000 for traffic updates.

East Coast Expressway concessionaire ANTH Bhd offered a 10 per cent discount today for Touch 'n Go users, starting from Gombak along the Kuala Lumpur-Karak highway, ending in Jabor, Terengganu.
