M’sian woman drives over grenade

A Malaysian woman was driving out of the driveway of her home in Selangor when an explosive device went off, damaging her car.

Coffee shop manager Chong May Lon said she drove over a rock while pulling out of her dirt driveway.

But it was actually a hand grenade. It went off and the explosion sent ball bearings ripping through the car, damaging the rear bumper, reported The Star.

Ms Chong said she was about to leave her home at 6.45am on Saturday when she felt the bottom of her car hit something hard.

"Then I heard a loud boom, and I felt my car lift off the ground slightly... When I got out of the car, I smelled a very strong chemical scent and saw that my car's back bumper had fallen off," she said.

Sungai Buloh police spokesman Superintendent Junaidi Bujang said a 50-year-old former solider was arrested on Saturday and a love triangle may be the reason behind the alleged attack.
