SMRT may face LTA sanctions for allowing ACS(I) to charter trains

SINGAPORE - An LTA spokesman yesterday said: "Under the Circle Line licence, SMRT has to seek LTA's prior approval for the provision of train services that are not open to the general commuting public. In this case, SMRT did not seek our approval before agreeing to provide the service. We are looking into the appropriate action to take.

School Sports: ACS (Independent) beat St Andrew's to take National C Div rugby crown

SINGAPORE - Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) regained their grip on the Schools National C Division rugby crown, beating arch-rivals St Andrew's Secondary 28-8 in front of around 6,000 fans at the National Stadium on Tuesday.


ACS(I) announced the win via its online news and information Twitter account @IndepOnline.

It said: We would like to congratulate the C division rugby team on their impressive victory (28-8) over St. Andrews! #TBIYTB #ACSI #hubbahubbAC


The school had chartered five MRT trains to transport students and staff to the match held at the newly-opened National Stadium.
