PETALING JAYA - Doing its part in spreading the Hari Raya cheer, the KL-Kuala Selangor (Latar) Expressway has distributed 1,000 Touch 'n Go cards for free to motorists using the cash lanes at its toll plazas.
Latar Expressway employees distributed the cards to motorists, including those going back to their hometown for the festive season, from Sunday midnight.
"Latar Expressway wishes to advise travellers to plan their journey well by checking on their vehicles' road-worthiness, observe speed limits and adopt a positive defensive driving attitude.
"They should also take a lot of rest prior to embarking on their balik kampung journey especially those on a long journey.
"And if need be, they should take a short rest in between at the R&R stops along the expressway," said Latar chief executive officer Amran Amir in a statement yesterday.
Latar has been distributing thousands of free Touch 'n Go cards to its users as part of its efforts to encourage users to use the electronic payment system which is easier and faster.
The move is also part of its corporate social responsibility initiative and as part of the company's appreciation to the loyal users of the expressway.
For those coming back from their hometown after the festivities, Latar will be giving away 6,000 cans of Wonda Coffee at the Kuang Barat toll plaza on Aug 9 and Aug 10 from noon to 2pm.
It previously distributed the coffee last Thursday and Friday to motorists using the highway.
