INAUGURAL PUBLIC PERCEPTION SURVEY ON ROAD SAFETY

Traffic Police have initiated a Safer Roads Singapore action plan which rests upon the three pillars of education, engagement, and enforcement to enhance road safety in Singapore.

As part of the road safety initiatives under this action plan, Traffic Police will be conducting the inaugural nationwide public perception survey to find out the community's perceptions and concerns toward road safety.

The survey will be conducted in various languages for a period of 2 months from 6 October 2013 to 6 December 2013. A 15-minute survey will be conducted by trained interviewers commissioned by Traffic Police at randomly selected households to participate in the survey.

The information from the survey will help Traffic Police develop road safety initiatives and policies to enhance road safety in Singapore. In addition, this survey aims to raise the awareness of road safety amongst the community and to encourage road users to play their part by adopting safe and courteous road use behaviour.
