SINGAPORE - You can always expect new items at Tim Ho Wan's Singapore outlets. Every few months, the Hong Kong dim sum chain will have new dishes at their outlets for a limited time.
Each outlet will have a different menu featuring a mixture of new and popular items. Popular items from the previous menu will be available at different outlets, for example May-June's Hong Kong-style curry fishballs with pork rinds ($6.80++) will be sold at Westgate this time.
Fans of mala dishes will be glad to know the dumpling with spicy sauce ($5++) is available at Plaza Singapura this round. Do also try the cordyceps with steamed chicken dumplings ($5.50++) there. The skin is a bit too sticky, but the flavourful filling makes up for it. Cordyceps is also believed to boost immunity, so that is another reason to have more of it.
The garlic fried fish skin ($6++) at Bedok Mall is really addictive. It is crunchy and crisp, without an oily aftertaste.
Toa Payoh will have fried seafood balls ($5.50) and steamed fish maw with prawn paste ($5.50).
