Durian noodles a Nanjing favourite

CHINA - A noodle maker in Nanjing city in China's Jiangsu province has invented a unique dish out of durian that is selling like hot cakes, Kwong Wah Yit Poh reported.

The dish, served with noodles and toppings like durian flesh, vegetables and other special ingredients, has become one of the hottest items at the shop near the Nanjing University of Science and Technology.

The Dongbei native in his 30s and fondly known as Da Ge (Brother Da), said his wife's love for the tropical fruit had spurred him into creating the dish several years ago.

He said he spent a long time learning how to successfully combine the vastly different flavours. "Our friends were made guinea pigs and it took me a while before it tastes the way it does now," he said.
