Oh Lady M, how I have longed for your delicate mille crepe cakes. Suffice to say that I am very excited that this New York cake shop is finally opening its first, much-anticipated offshoot here on Sunday. A second one will open at One Fullerton in November.

Each cake is made up of no fewer than 20 soft and thin crepes, layered with rich but light pastry cream. My favourite is the green tea-flavoured mille crepe cake - instead of vanilla cream, the cake is layered with green tea-infused cream. I squealed delightedly to myself (and all around me) when I found out this variation would be available here. Slices start at $7.

The cafe will also serve mille crepes in other flavours, as well as other desserts such as eclairs and fruit tarts.
