Posh Nosh: Cool tea bags for iced tea

I have a pretty extensive tea stash, but this canister from American company Harney & Sons catches my eye.

The tea bags are meant for making iced tea.

Curious, I get the Organic Green With Coconut flavour to try and get surprisingly good results.

In each canister are six large tea bags that make about 2 litres of iced tea each.

You steep one bag in about 500ml hot water for 10 minutes, then add it to 1.5 litres of cold water. Refrigerate and, in a couple of hours, a big pitcher of iced tea is ready.

I find 2 litres a little too much and 1.5 litres of water works very well. Less water also makes sense if you intend to add ice to the drink.

The flavours that come through most strongly are the green tea, vanilla and coconut. Lemongrass and ginger are a bit more elusive.

However, drinking the cold tea is a little like sipping on a pina colada minus the booze. It puts me in a holiday mood.
