There are a number of places that serve pretty good gyoza in town. I like Gyoza-Ya at The Heeren and the ones at The Horse's Mouth and Uma Uma Ramen at Forum The Shopping Mall.
Another decent place for these delicate meat parcels is Gyoza King at Orchid Hotel, which is opened by the owners behind Ramen Keisuke.
There's nothing fancy about the dumplings or pot-stickers here. They are plain and filled with juicy goodness. Personally, I like pork dumplings but those here also come filled with chicken or prawns.
The gyoza (below), which are steamed then fried, come out piping hot and crisp on the bottom. That crunch is what makes me eat more than just one. Each set of five dumplings ($13.90++) also includes a bowl of rice, miso or vegetable soup, and a choice of two side dishes. For the side dishes, opt for the eggplant, which is fried-to-order with a sweet-salty miso paste.
