Stranger pays woman's restaurant bill after overhearing her troubles

A man dining at a restaurant in Boston picked up the tab of two women anonymously after he overheard them receiving some bad news, by passing this note to a waiter there.

According to a report on The Stir, a waiter noticed a mother and daughter crying halfway through their meal after they took a phone call.

A man at the next table then handed the waiter this note, and paid for both his own and the women's meals.

The waiter posted a photo of the note on Reddit four days ago, and it has since gone viral. He wrote, "Faith in humanity restored."

The waiter also added, "I waited until after he had left to tell them their check had been taken care of. The mother was overwhelmed with gratitude, as was I. It was a great evening."
