What happens when Americans try Singapore snacks for the first time

As Singaporeans, we pride ourselves on our local food and snacks, which we have consumed throughout our childhood and even into adulthood.

Of course, the sentiment is not shared by other cultures around the world. Tastes vary by region, and what is familiar and delicious to us may be foul to non-locals.

Buzzfeed demonstrated this with a video entitled 'Americans Try Singaporean Food', with reactions from participants in the taste test ranging from surprise to boredom to disgust.

The smell of haw flakes really put one woman off, while red melon seeds drew ire all around.

That said, they seem to really love chicken satay.
