$5,000 raised for charity at NBA 3X Singapore

SINGAPORE - A total amount of $5,000 was raised in support of Special Olympics Singapore during NBA 3X Singapore, a 3-day basketball tournament held from Sep 26-28, 2014.

Held for the second year running, a total of 73 teams took part in the 3-on-3 tournament.

Towards the end of the event, winning teams took part in the addidas' Shoot-For-Charity Challenge to raise funds for a good cause. $400 was raised at the challenge, while NBA contributed additional funds to bring the final donation amount to $5,000.

NBA Legend Horace Grant, who was present at the event, conducted a special clinic for the athletes of Special Olympics Singapore, Grace Orchard School and Singapore Disability Sports School as part of the League's NBA Cares' program.

NBA Cares is the league's social responsibility programme that builds on the NBA's mission of addressing important social issues in the United States and around the world.
