Singapore is all set to host the 28th SEA Games and a full-dress rehearsal of the June 5 opening ceremony at the National Stadium yesterday evening gave a sneak preview of the colour and revelry that will unfold.
Giant flamingoes and lion dancers combined in a striking performance entitled The Big Singapore Welcome.
The extravaganza involves no fewer than 5,000 performers and volunteers. In all, the ceremony will stretch for two hours and comprises five acts as the organisers have promised to deliver a visual spectacle.
Some 30,000 SEA Games volunteers and families and friends watched the rehearsal at the National Stadium, making it the first time the performances were shown to a live audience.
