Cycling: Good day for OCBC team

The OCBC Singapore Pro Cycling Team's Cameron Bayly finished third in yesterday's Stage 2 of the Tour de Kumano.

The result was the Singapore outfit's 14th podium spot to date, and propelled them to top spot in the Team General Classification (GC). Australian Bayly finished the 109.3km Kumano Sangaku Circuit with the lead peloton, and was credited with a time of 3:03:07, along with stage winner Francisco Mancebo of the Skydive Dubai Pro Cycling Team.

Teammate Eric Sheppard also finished within the lead peloton in fourth place, while Thomas Rabou was 17th.

The team moved from eighth to first place in the Team GC Standings, ahead of Japanese outfits Team Ukyo and the Bridge Stone Anchor Cycling Team.

The final stage of the tour today will see the riders covering 10 laps of the 10-kilometre Taiji Cove circuit.
