PETALING JAYA - Newly-crowned Europa League champions Sevilla will play in Malaysia for the first time when they take on Selangor in a friendly at the Shah Alam Stadium on May 26.
Selangor Football Association (FAS) deputy president Datuk Mokhtar Ahmad confirmed the Los Rojiblancos' trip to Malaysia through a press release on Tuesday.
Sevilla beat Benfica 4-2 on penalties after both teams were tied 0-0 after 120 minutes.
"Sevilla FC are a respectable team and it's an honour to get an opportunity to host them, especially after they've just won the Europa League," said Mokhtar in the press release.
"It's definitely going to be a tough match for Selangor ... but the team will give their best as this is an additional treat to our loyal fans.
"We hope such a game will help increase the spirit of the team and spur them on to finish on top of the league this season."
Tickets are priced at RM20 (S$7.78) and will be available on Friday from 3pm at the Shah Alam Stadium.
