Fandi Ahmad's sons ink 6-figure sponsorship deal with CIMB

SINGAPORE - The two sons of local football legend Fandi Ahmad, Irfan, 17, and Ikhsan, 15, have both inked a six-figure sponsorship deal with CIMB group today.

Irfan and Ikhsan, who have represented Singapore at the Canon Lion City Cup and the Asian Youth Games in Nanjing, China, are currently studying in Chile and training with Universidad Catolica, a First Division club in Santiago.

With this sponsorship, Irfan and Ikhsan will be expected complete their studies and training during their stay in Chile.

At the signing ceremony, Mak Lye Mun, Country Head of CIMB Group Singapore and CEO of CIMB Bank Singapore said, "We hope that this sponsorship will propel these two Singapore homegrown talents to excel on the local and regional stages, and to flourish in the international arena as well."

Describing the sponsorship as a "breakthrough in Irfan and Ikhsan's development as footballers," Fandi Ahmad said that "[his] family is extremely thrilled to have the support of an ASEAN player like CIMB and [they] look forward to a successful partnership."
