Football: Crafty penalty 'feint' helps Maldives defeat Afghanistan

Maldive's Ashad Ali Adubarey apparently feigned a fall just before his penalty kick to put off the goalkeeper, before raising himself quickly to send the ball into the goal.

In Thursday's Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Challenge Cup match between Maldives and Afghanistan, neither team scored in 90 minutes. The teams were at 1-1 after extra time. The game had to be decided over penalty kicks.

Adubarey's feint helped him secure his goal, leveling the score at 7-7.

Maldives went on to win the match 9-8, to secure third place in the tournament.
