Football: Mourinho's DNA still in Chelsea's make-up

Love him or loathe him, few can ignore him.

Jose Mourinho picks up today where he left off at Chelsea six years ago. Eight managers have tried to fill his shoes, and all turned out to be interim appointments before Roman Abramovich reappointed the Special One he dismissed in September 2007.

There was, and still is, the DNA of Jose in the Chelsea make-up.

Yes, Carlo Ancelotti won the Premier League back in 2010. Yes, Roberto di Matteo guided the team to the one trophy Mourinho didn't win as a Blue, the Champions League last year.

But all the while, Chelsea were Mourinho's Chelsea. He won the Champions League with Inter Milan. His Real Madrid started as a love affair and ended with a divided, toxic dressing room.

Finally, almost on his own terms, the Ego landed his old job back again.

"I asked the boss, 'Do you want me back?'. And the boss asked me, 'Do you want to come back?' In a couple of minutes, the decision was made."

That is how Mourinho described his job interview when his return to the Bridge was confirmed.
