Football: Warriors roar with Velez's treble

A hat-trick from Nicolas Velez spurred the Warriors to a 4-1 victory over the Courts Young Lions in the Great Eastern-Yeo's S.League at the Choa Chu Kang Stadium last night.
Young Lions winger Jordan Webb gave the Under-23 side the lead in the sixth minute, but the Warriors equalised 10 minutes later through Velez.
The Argentine forward, who is now the league's top scorer with 17 goals, fired his team in front in the 24th minute, before winger Hafiz Rahim added a third two minutes before half-time.
Velez completed his hat-trick in the 70th minute.
The win moves the Warriors up to third place, two points adrift of leaders Brunei DPMM, who face Balestier at the Toa Payoh Stadium tonight.
