Get behind Young Lions 'Come Together' campaign

Last weekend, the Singapore Under-23 team paid homage to their alma mater by wearing the jerseys of their former school teams.

The players' tribute to their former schools was part of the "Come Together" campaign that the Football Association of Singapore has launched to unite Singaporeans as they support the Young Lions at the SEA Games.

The players modelled the jersey of the last school team they played in, but they were also clearly appreciative of the lessons they learnt from their other schools too.

Aide Iskandar, the U-23 coach, agreed that teachers and coaches during the players' school days play a big part in their development.

He said: "This photo shoot is a great opportunity for the team to show their appreciation to not just the schools, but also the teachers and coaches who groomed them on and off the pitch."

The Young Lions will play their first match next Monday, against the Philippines at Jalan Besar Stadium. The Group A match kicks off at 8.30pm.
