SINGAPORE - Former English Premier League favourites Robbie Fowler, Lee Sharpe and Louis Saha are among the stars set to wow spectators at the IG Masters Football 6's at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Oct 20.
Fowler, who scored 128 league goals in 266 appearances for Liverpool, will headline a Liverpool Masters team that also feature the likes of Rob Jones and Dietmar Hamann.
Sharpe and Saha will be tasked with spearheading the Manchester United Masters' attack, alongside former Red Devils Keith Gillespie and Jesper Blomqvist.
The All-Stars Masters team will boast former Nottingham Forest striker Pierre van Hooijdonk.
The Dutchman led the All-Stars to the title at last year's event.
A Singapore Masters side led by Malaysia Cup heroes V. Sundramoorthy and Nazri Nasir will aim to emulate the achievements of last year's side and reach the final. They will be strengthened by former Singapore international and Tampines Rovers striker Aleksandar Duric.
Said Duric, the only current full-time professional footballer in the tournament: "It is a fantastic opportunity to be playing against these big names, and also alongside local stars like Sundram. I may have an advantage, fitness-wise, but it will still be difficult. The pitch is smaller so the game will be very fast."
Former Singapore captain Nazri said: "We will be aiming to win but it's also important we play attractive football and entertain the fans."
Tickets for the four-team event can be bought from Sistic.
