Hello Kitty to celebrate birthday with 5km run in Singapore

SINGAPORE - The world's most famous feline character, Hello Kitty, will celebrate her 40th birthday on November 1 with an inaugural Hello Kitty Run in Singapore.

The 5km run is considered to be the only Hello Kitty birthday bash in Southeast Asia, and will feature a specially designed birthday cake and birthday song sung by 15,000 fans.

Hello Kitty Run Singapore will cover iconic landmarks around the city, and is open to participants of all ages.

All participants will receive an exclusive runner's t-shirt and a special edition commemorative Hello Kitty plush toy. Registration is now open on www.hellokittyrun.com.sg and will close when capacity is full.

Fringe activities including the Hello Kitty Village will also be held.
