SINGAPORE - Singapore-based golfer Jennifer Yan clinched the girls' title at the British Open Amateur Championship in Lancashire, England last Friday.
Representing Seletar Country Club, the 17-year-old (left) beat Italian Roberta Liti one-up after 18 holes played at Fairhaven Golf Club.
Jennifer had taken the lead twice, drawing first blood at the second hole and then winning the sixth, but she was quickly pegged back in the third and seventh holes by her 18-year-old opponent from Siena.
However, the Raffles Girls' School student broke away from the ninth hole by winning three on the trot.
