Jockey Corey Brown (astride No. 12) leading Argentinian import Quechua to victory in the $1.35-million Longines Singapore Gold Cup yesterday.
The four-year-old gelding posted a 11/2-length victory in the prestigious Group 1 race at the Singapore Turf Club in Kranji.
It was South African trainer Patrick Shaw's second triumph in the 2,200m race.
Shaw's other runner, Emperor's Banquet, was second.
Third was Cheetah On Fire while Tropaios was fourth.
Pre-race favourite War Affair, bidding to win the Gold Cup and become the first horse to sweep all three legs of the Singapore Triple Crown Series, finished fifth.
