PETALING JAYA - Liverpool fans, rejoice! The Reds will roar into town next month.
The Merseyside team will be in Malaysia for a friendly match against a Malaysian Selection on July 24.
Liverpool will take on the local side at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, Kuala Lumpur, on July 24 just as they did in their previous visit in 2011 when fans were treated to a goal fest. The English Premier League team beat a Malaysian XI 6-3.
To promote the team's pre-season tour, The Star and ProEvents International have joined forces to give readers a chance to win tickets to the match.
ProEvents Management Ltd CEO Julian Kam, who presented the tickets to Star Media Group executive editor Brian Martin yesterday, said fans could expect an entertaining match from the English team.
"Liverpool has arguably the most number of fans in Malaysia who are very passionate about their club.
"I'm sure the fans will come out in droves to support their favourite team on July 24," Martin said.
A full squad from the Merseyside team will be engaging with Malaysian fans and take part in community activities along with staff from the club's charity, Liverpool FC Foundation.
The match is organised by the Football Association of Malaysia and promoted by ProEvents International
Malaysia will be the last stop of Liverpool's pre-season tour after they play in Adelaide, Brisbane and Bangkok.
Look out for announcements in The Star on ticket giveaways and promotions for the match.
