Not even in his wildest dreams did Madhu Mohana think he would be a match-winner in a Malaysia Cup quarter-final.
He should have been on Cloud Nine last Saturday, when his 40th-minute header against ATM FA at the Jalan Besar Stadium handed the LionsXII what could possibly be a crucial one-goal lead heading into the second leg in Selangor on Friday.
Instead, he felt only relief.
Three days after his first goal of the season, Madhu, 22, simply smiled and shook his head when asked if he felt like a hero.
"I'm glad I scored that goal. I missed another good chance before that, so it's actually more relief than anything," he said, on the sidelines of the team's training session at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Tuesday.
It's been a glorious two weeks for the lanky right back, who has started the last three matches for the Singapore side.
On Wednesday, he is in a battle with Faritz Hameed for the starting right back position, giving coach V Sundramoorthy a nice problem to grapple with as the LionsXII eye a place in the semi-finals of the Malaysia Cup.
Faritz has not given up hope of regaining his place in the side.
