Malaysia Cup: Why LionsXII will qualify for semis
LionsXII coach V Sundramoorthy at a training session at Selayang Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on 3 October 2013, prior to the Malaysia Cup second leg quarter-final match against ATM to be held at Selayang Stadium on 4 October 2013.

Their away record is nothing to shout about - 10 defeats and just three wins in their last 21 games on the road.

But there is no doubt in my mind the LionsXII will beat ATM FA on Oct 4 and qualify for the Malaysia Cup semi-finals.

1 Tactical surprise

Sundram's team may have scored just 12 goals in their 15 away games this season, but I think he will instruct the players to go out and get the first goal to kill off the tie.

Contrary to what some people think about Sundram's priority of getting a clean sheet, he is well capable of springing a tactical surprise like what he did against Johor Darul Takzim and Kedah earlier this season.

He has the players to do it. Any player - just ask Madhu (Mohana) - can score or contribute from a set-piece, plus there are also the creative abilities of Shahril Ishak and Shahfiq Ghani, although in general, the team's finishing can still improve.

I'm confident that the LionsXII will get the first goal and go on to win 2-1.
