Martina wins Singapore's first medal at AYG

Martina Veloso has won Singapore's first medal at Nanjing's Asian Youth Games.

The 14-year-old's 185.2 points in the 10-metre air rifle event were enough for her to win the bronze, with teammate Leona Yeo coming in fifth with 142.3.

China's He Zichao won the gold with 205.3 points, with South Korea's Kim Je Hee taking silver with 203.9.

In badminton, Yeo Jia Min put herself in position to earn Singapore another medal.

She advanced to the quarter-finals of the girls' singles and will face fourth seed Ho Yen Mei of Malaysia for a spot in the semis on Monday.
