Nepal to take part in Fina World Championships

Four Nepali swimmers are set to represent Nepal in the 12th Fina World Swimming Championships slated for Dec 3-7 in Doha, Qatar.

Nepal will field two male and as many female swimmers in the world' premier event where they will get valuable lesson competing against the top swimmers of the globe.

Sirish Gurung will compete in the men' 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle while Miraj Prajapati will compete in men's 50m, 100m freestyle and 50m backstroke events.

Sofia Shah will take part in the women's 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle while Neharika Tuladhar will compete in the women's 50m and 100m breaststroke events.

Senior coach Shankar Karki and Nepal Swimming Association (NSA) executive member Deep Sagar Singh will accompany the team to Doha.

The Nepal team will leave for Doha on Monday.

Coach Karki is already in Doha for a swimming programme.

Two more swimmers Oshina Bharati and Debesh Manandhar will also compete in youth development programme scheduled for December 3-8 at the same venue.

The two swimmers will leave for Doha with coach Yubaraj Sunwar on Tuesday.
