SINGAPORE - Athletes from all 11 nations participating in the SEA Games will be able to rest and unwind in privacy at the NILA Suite for Athletes, situated at the Kallang Theatre.

Located just steps away from competition venues at the Singapore Sports Hub, the NILA suite provides athletes a place to take a break and get to know one another in between competitions.

Measuring 600 square metres, the Suite boasts features like a canteen well stocked with healthy snacks; tech space with Wi-Fi access; and a games area with karaoke.

It is managed by staff from the SportCares Foundation and its partners.

A separate room will house massage chairs, sponsored by Osim. Athletes can also do their laundry at a dedicated laundry area with 17 washing machines.

A photo booth in the NILA Suite aims to incorporate interactive technology with social media to encourage athletes to capture picture-perfect moments with their foreign counterparts against an iconic 'kopitiam' backdrop.

"The NILA Suite is a key touchpoint for athletes around the region to meet and forge lasting, enduring friendships," said Laura Reid, Deputy Director, SportCares Foundation.

Athletes, too, welcomed the Suite and the interaction it would bring.

"The NILA suite offers me opportunities to have some time to myself, to take my mind off the competition for a while to rest and relax, as well as mingle with fellow athletes from all over the region," said Team Singapore fencer Ann Lee Huimin.
