GLASGOW - At every major sports event, it is common for the media to be provided with a welcome pack by the organisers.
The usual contents include a media guidebook, a backpack or shoulder bag, pens, souvenir pins or even T-shirts, water bottles and thumb drives.
But in true Scottish style, the Glasgow Commonwealth Games organisers have provided their most famous local produce, called the "water of life" - whisky.
The Straits Times cannot confirm nor deny that all journalists in Glasgow were rejoicing over that.
