SINGAPORE- The Power Rangers joined scores of superheroes and some 54,000 other runners at the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore yesterday, drawing cheers from participants and bringing a dash of colour to the gloomy skies and light drizzle.
Full marathon runners doing 42.195km started along Orchard Road, while half-marathon runners started at Sentosa. This year's marathon even saw one runner proposing to his girlfriend after they completed the half-marathon.
But the stars of the day were Kenyans Luka Chelimo Kipkemboi and Sharon Cherop, who won in the male and female open categories. In the Singapore men's and women's categories, the winners were Mok Ying Ren and Anne Qi Hui.
