The Singapore Turf Club has granted former Singapore based jockey Mark Gallagher a oneday visiting jockey's licence to ride at Kranji on Sunday, Oct 6.

Based in Kuala Lumpur since last year, the 44-yearold Irish rider (right) has been booked by trainer Barry Brogan to ride Malaysian- based horses MULTITASKING and JIMTOWN in the cross-border races in Singapore on that day.

With more than 25 years in the saddle, Gallagher has ridden in excess of 1,000 winners in various countries including Ireland, England, France, America, India, Singapore, Malaysia and Macau.

He rode on the Singapore circuit between 2007 and 2010, chalking up 99 winners at Kranji before relocating to India for two years, followed by his latest port of call, Malaysia.

Currently 11th on the Malaysian jockeys' premiership, Gallagher goes to scale at 52.5kg.
