Racing: Santana suspended

At the conclusion of an inquiry last Sunday, jockey Ivaldo Santana (above) was found guilty to a charge of careless riding while riding Yin Jie in Race 7 at the Singapore Turf Club meeting on Sunday, March 23.

Near the 700m, he allowed his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear, crowding Strubeli in onto Single Act, who checked and lost ground.

As Santana has been engaged to ride in the April 25 and April 27 meetings, his suspension was deferred and will start from April 28 until May 4, both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
