Schooling reclaims record for 100-yard butterfly

Singapore swim star Joseph Schooling reclaimed the National High School record for the boys' 100-yard butterfly in the United States Saturday morning (Singapore time).

The 18-year-old Bolles School student clocked 45.52sec to win the final at the Florida High School Athletic Association State Championship in Florida.

Schooling held the national mark until Caelab Dressel rewrote it in September with 45.89.

With his latest swim, Schooling also rewrote his own National Private High School mark of 46.20.

In a video interview with Florida Swim Network, he said: "It was a really good time but I wanted to go faster - as close to 44 seconds as I could.

"But it's a new national record and a personal best."

Schooling also helped Bolles sweep the relay titles. The Bulldogs won the 200 medley relay in 1min 28.93sec, the 200 freestyle relay in 1:22.32 and the 400 free relay in 3:01.86.
